OPEN WIDE
Bi-fold, French-style, sliding, double-hung, hopper or casement? These are just some of the many types of windows there are available to enhance your home – and, depending on its location, the right one can provide a room with ventilation and give it aesthetic appeal too. Plate-glass windows can be visually pleasing, while allowing fresh air to circulate to create a pleasant living area. |

OUT BACK LIVING
An outdoor room is perfect for the Australian home as it brings the indoors outside – and vice versa. And, whether it’s simple or hi-tech, it adds another dimension to entertaining – and living. Ranging from a simple deck or tiled courtyard to an area that’s fully enclosed – and complete with kitchen, lounge and dining setting – there’s an outdoor room to suite every lifestyle and budget.

BOYS WILL BE BOYS
Give your tween boy a place to express himself with a bright and funky bedroom. A boy’s room is fun to decorate as the colours are often bolder and the accessories more vibrant. Tweens want to be teens, so choosing grown-up furniture that won’t date is a good move. Give him a choice of places to sit, with a futon or sofa as well as a chair – don’t forget his friends!

DESERT PALETTE
Even in their purest forms, neither orange nor deep mid-purple is a ‘decorating colour’ and side by side they certainly don’t make a pleasing combination. However, blend these two secondary colours together and you create the most beautiful array of rich yet subtle terracottas, rusts and soft pinks. Add some white to the equation and you produce pale, pretty pastels.
