Alfresco Magic
After profiling Tiffany’s home for Vo. 2 No. 11 of My Home, we begged for some tips on achieving this relaxed outdoor style. Of course, as owner of homewares and gift store The Perfect Gift, Tiffany will always have a head-start on most of us, but she assured us that it’s a simple matter of putting things together so they look good.
Tiffany’s Tips
- Entertaining friends or enjoying a quiet night with family, you need room to accommodate everyone. Our table and benches were designed to seat up to 10 people. There’s also a bench built into the wall for extra seating.
- Make them more comfortable and complete the look with soft cushions in pretty florals and simple neutrals. I like colour – but not too much.
- Serve food on white crockery because the food itself adds colour. Bring in more bright hues with a simple bowl of fruit or vase of flowers – and a favourite item to hold them is a pale green Bison pail from my shop.
- Start with neutrals and add your own personality. Things don’t always have to match, so stick with what you like and it will all come together.
